Just wanted to let you know that your buildings are good for hurricanes. I live just north of Orlando and we were in the center of the path for Hurricane Charley last Friday night (8/13/04) and took 105 mph winds for almost an hour. At first light on Saturday, I found 20 large trees down in the rear and on the side of the building but the building was fine. Not one screw was pulled out and no leaks with 4.5 inches of rain in 2 hours!

I was amazed at how fast and simple the construction went. In TOK, Alaska, timeframe is critical for summer construction. I have talked to a lot of people about (my experience) with Miracle Truss. This is by far the nicest building in TOK. I sheeted the inside with white steel sheeting. For seriously cold weather, ease of construction, cost, good looks and strength, I sure am glad I picked Miracle Truss.

At first I thought the Miracle Truss price for materials was too high. But when I recall that I never had a single problem with something being of the wrong size or out of true or short of supply; and with the support I got by telephone many times, I think that in the long run I saved myself a lot of trouble and long-term money by not going the minimum-cost route. There is not a speck of rust on the shop after three years. The concrete slab, however, has some miniscule cracks in it, but that is life in the Florida sand hills, even with 22" deep footings. I know that if we ever sell our spread, when the husband sees the shop-no problem.

Two weeks ago, the local area where I live had five (5) tornadoes touch down. Since I live across the street from the airport, I wasn't too concerned as they didn't mention anything. Then on my way home I heard that the airport had 89 mph winds and a tornado had turned over several small planes at the back of the airport. Upon arrival home, I discovered the winds were so strong they uprooted one tree in my backyard and the top of a tree had fallen on the roof of my Miracle Truss building. The next day a friend and I climbed on top of the roof to remove the treetop. We were amazed to discover no damage had occurred to the roof because the full weight of the tree fell on the ridge cap. The treetop was so large that we had to saw it into pieces in order to remove it from the roof. There was no other damage -- not even the 2x6 wood was dented or damaged in any way. I am truly amazed at how well the building withstood the high winds.
