We live on a tropical island where it’s humid and a lot of salt spray. We also host some vicious termites because of our locale. In lieu of regular lumber, I opted to use termite pressure treated lumber. Not only did it withstand its first typhoon (with gusts close to 200 mph) but it has withstood all other storms to date.
