Do you hear what I hear? No, I’m not talking about the 1960’s Christmas carol made popular by Bing Crosby. I’m talking about FIREWORKS!
It seems that in both the weeks leading up to and following Independence Day, everyone in my neighborhood is shooting off fireworks. And while it can be slightly unnerving to hear the steady “whizz!” and “pop!” as I’m trying to drift to sleep each night, I actually find it rather refreshing and oddly reassuring.
FREEDOM TO CELEBRATE
Recently, our country has been coming under fire by many of its citizens, (not to mention mother nature and some intense heat and burning too); most of whom are arguing from completely opposite angles. However, the nightly fireworks reassure me; I’m glad to see that we can still all come together to celebrate what the 4th of July and our nation truly stand for. And no, I’m not talking about the fireworks. I’m meaning the joy, togetherness, FREEDOMS and independence that make our country great and that make us Americans.
