Quick. What’s the first thing that comes to mind about New Jersey? Most people know it’s called the “Garden State.” Give yourself a pat on the back if that’s what you said, too.

But, do you know how the state got its nickname? That credit goes to a man named Abraham Browning of Camden, New Jersey. He called it the “Garden State” while speaking at the Philadelphia Centennial exhibition on New Jersey Day, on August 24, 1876. His actual quote is, “”Our Garden State is an immense barrel, filled with good things to eat and open at both ends, with Pennsylvanians grabbing from one end and New Yorkers from the other.”

Abundant in Many Ways

New Jersey is an interesting place, and for many reasons. It is, for example, the most densely populated state in the United States. According to the last Census, New Jersey had 1,196 persons per square mile. To put that into perspective, the national average is 87 persons per square mile. At the far end is Alaska, which has just 2 persons per square mile.

So, while there actually is plenty of open space in the state, every one of New Jersey’s counties is designated as “urban,” as defined by our Census Bureau’s Combined Statistical Area Map.

Horses Like it, too!

While it’s the state most densely populated by humans, New Jersey also claims the top spot for horses, too. There are more horses per square mile there than any other state in the nation. It’s why, logically, the United States Equestrian Team makes its headquarters in the city of Gladstone, New Jersey.

With that in mind, it’s not surprising to find a growing number of horse-owners taking up interest in using pre-fabricated metal buildings as horse stables. A Miracle Truss® building is the most cost-effective way to provide a horse with a secure place when they’re not out doing…well, whatever it is that horses do.

The Steel Building Advantage

Few of us have the luxury of not having to worry about how much things cost. Several of our building designs make perfect sense for use as highly customizable horse stables. The top reason is the low cost. Coming in a close second—and now it’s starting to sound as if we’re referring to a horse race—is the advantage of the pre-assembled packages we offer. You can have a Miracle Truss® building delivered to your property and put it up yourself.

Our web truss designs create buildings that are free of interior columns. That’s a definite plus. Horses need room. But it also comes into play if you’re thinking of a larger building that can be used as an indoor riding area.

All of our designs feature standard 24-inch on center construction. This means you can design an interior layout that’ll work beautifully for both horses and humans. You’ll be able to include generous tack rooms to store your saddles.

Miracle Truss® buildings are highly customizable, and you don’t have to break the bank with the purchase of specialized building materials to make it unique. Put standard doors and windows wherever they make sense for you—and for the horses. You can also include large rolling doors to create open spaces for easy access and cleaning.

So, if you happen to call this part of our country home, and you also happen to have a horse or two, you owe it to yourself to look into the advantages of considering a steel building kit to use as a stable. They’re built to last, with a 50-year structural warranty. And they’re virtually maintenance free.

The options you have to customize it also means that you can create a beautiful building that will fit the décor and design of your property. How do you get started? Head here and provide us with a bit of information. We’ll send you our metal and steel building information kit.
