When I was a child, I used to blow on those fluffy dandelions and make wishes as the seeds floated away. As I got older, I began to understand why my parents were always telling me not to blow on those “weeds”; not only did they symbolically spread out my hopes and dreams, but they also spread their pesky little seeds ALL over the yard!
Now, in my family, none of us are particularly gifted at yard work. So, dandelions either go untouched and we all get to enjoy the pretty yellow “flowers”, or we have to break out the weed killer and show the little pests who’s boss!
Of course, where there is a season to kill (yes, even to kill plants), there must also be a season to cause them to live!
Now (spring) is the time to fertilize, plant, and water. Soon, we will see all sorts of fruits, flowers, and vegetables begin to blossom. In fact, several of the apple trees in my front yard are already starting to bloom. And you know what they say, “the days are long, but the years are short.”
Before long, it will be time to gather all those crops (though it will seem like just days ago that they were planted; they do grow up relatively so fast!).
