THERMAL INSULATION
BARRIER
SOME OTHER STEEL
CONSTRUCTION METHODS
Steel Purlins and girts are sometimes placed 4’ – 6’ on center, requiring expensive blanket type insulation that can only be installed at the time of construction. The insulation is compressed and punctured every nine inches with a fastener as it is draped over the framework and sandwiched under the sheeting. This can create a thermal bridge at each of these compression/puncture points, allowing heat and cold to radiate in or out of the building at each fastener. Condensation can then form and drip from the inside supports. This can soak the insulation resulting in further loss of “R’’ value, cause metal to rust and allow potential growth of harmful molds.

THE MIRACLE TRUSS®
METHOD
Wood Purlins and girts are placed 2’ on center allowing the use of standard batt type insulation. Insulation can be applied at any time during or after construction. Batt Insulation is placed between the purlins and girts at full thickness and is never compressed or punctured, providing 100% insulation value. Fasteners are placed directly into the wood. This method eliminates the thermal bridge (steel on steel heat transfer that can take place) and deters the transfer of heat/cold. This is an extremely efficient method of insulation resulting in greater heating and cooling efficiency to the owner.
